The socks that inspired the Retro Winter Sock were originally made using a special knitting machine that was used to knit ski socks from the 80's to the early 90's. As ski boots evolved over time and the thickness of socks gradually became thinner, the production volume of ski socks using this knitting machine decreased. Currently, this knitting machine is producing work socks worn by people working in cold regions, such as fishermen and forestry workers. The base material is a blend of thick wool and acrylic yarn that is actually used in those work socks. These socks, which have a pile knit sole, can be used not only for everyday wear as boot socks, but also for outdoor activities such as fishing and camping.
